Ninzel Rasmueson
“Ninzel Rasmueson, a proud Herriman resident, has dedicated her life to serving both her community and her country. Originally from Seattle, WA, Ninzel has lived across several states, including Montana, California, and Washington, before settling in Utah with her husband and their blended family of four children. With two grandchildren and a heart full of love for her family, Ninzel’s passions extend beyond her personal life to a professional career grounded in helping others.
A veteran of the Air National Guard, Ninzel served from 1989 to 2001, where she worked in mishap investigation and managed GI Bill education benefits for fellow service members. Her service took her from Tacoma, WA, to Great Falls, MT, and she continues to honor the values she learned during her military career. Though being away from her young children during her service was a challenge, Ninzel looks back on her time in the military with pride, grateful for the lessons of sacrifice and service that shaped her.
Professionally, Ninzel has built an impressive resume in human services. She has worked for the State of California as a Service Coordinator and Resource Development Specialist, helping individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. In Washington State, she served as a Management Analyst and Training Manager for the Office of Minority and Women Business Enterprises. Her experience also includes work in child protective services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, and crisis centers for individuals with developmental disabilities. Through each role, Ninzel’s passion for helping others has been a driving force.
In 2017, Ninzel’s commitment to serving those who serve others led her to found a nonprofit organization dedicated to military service members, veterans, first responders, and their families. With a vision of creating a world without suicide, Ninzel’s nonprofit works tirelessly to support these heroes, providing essential resources and support. Her deep appreciation for those who are willing to sacrifice for God, family, and country is evident in everything she does.
Ninzel’s academic background is just as impressive as her career. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, a Master’s degree in Human Services with a specialization in Social Work and Community Services, and a PhD in Education with a specialization in Professional Studies and Post-Secondary Adult Education. Her education has equipped her to make a meaningful impact in every community she has touched, both through her work and her nonprofit.
When she’s not serving others, Ninzel enjoys the beauty of Utah, where she finds solace in the outdoors. Hiking, camping, bicycling, and photography are among her favorite pastimes, and she especially loves the vibrant colors of Utah’s fall season. As someone who values family and community, Ninzel feels at home in Utah, where the volunteer spirit and deep sense of patriotism resonate with her core values.
Despite the many challenges she has faced, including growing up in poverty and balancing the demands of her career with family life, Ninzel remains optimistic and focused on making a positive difference. She draws daily inspiration from her Christian faith, her family, and the people she meets through her work. Every day is an opportunity for Ninzel to live out her goal of doing the right thing and influencing others for the better.
For those looking to follow in her footsteps, Ninzel’s advice is simple: never give up and always surround yourself with mentors who support you. Her life is a testament to the power of perseverance, service, and a commitment to uplifting others, qualities that make her an extraordinary asset to the Herriman community and beyond.”
